About CasperPrep
Helping medical school applicants prepare for the CASPER exam with realistic, timed practice.
Our mission
CASPER (Computer-based Assessment for Sampling Personal characteristics) is one of the most important — and least practised — components of medical school admissions. Most applicants prepare extensively for the MCAT, GPA, and interviews, yet arrive at CASPER having never timed themselves under realistic conditions.
CasperPrep was built to change that. We provide authentic timed practice, AI-generated scenarios that mirror real exam content, and specific, actionable feedback so you can identify your blind spots and improve before test day.
What is CASPER?
CASPer is an online situational judgment test used by health professional schools across Canada, the US, Australia, and New Zealand. It assesses non-academic qualities — empathy, communication, professionalism, ethical reasoning — that distinguish great clinicians from merely academically capable ones.
The current test (2026 format) runs 65–85 minutes and has two parts: a video-response section (4 scenarios, 1 minute per question, spoken answers) and a typed-response section (7 scenarios, 3.5 minutes each, written answers to two questions per scenario). Each scenario presents a short situation followed by two open-ended questions.
Text-based practice — video coming soon
At this time, CasperPrep supports text-based scenarios only. All scenarios — whether pasted manually or AI-generated — are presented as written descriptions rather than video clips.
We are actively developing video-based scenario support, which will more closely replicate the format of the actual CASPER exam. This feature will be available to Pro subscribers when released.
